Ft Davis to Marathon TX …near Big Bend National Park. Much nicer weather. Warmer. Still windy but that will happen daily they say here in Texas. We had a short day, 53 miles but we put it down at the end, so we were tired. First town we hit on the course was Alpine TX, home of Sul Ross University and the birth town of Dan Blocker (Hoss) from Bonanza fame. We had a head wind until halfway and then we had the good fortune of getting it behind us near the end. We had a very nice dinner tonight. One of the perks of this trip is being taken to nice places to eat and being told to pick whatever we want on the menu. I have gotten things I typically don’t get. It’s been fun.
